Brick Factory That Never Worked

A modern brick factory built around 2007. It was never put into operation, most likely because of the 2008 financial crisis. The entire production line sits under a single roof in a building roughly 100 metres long. The Italian equipment for mixing and moulding the bricks has survived, along with extensive drying chambers and a tunnel kiln for firing. The office wing was left unfinished.

Getting in is almost effortless — there are large holes in the fence and one stretch of it has collapsed entirely. However, an active industrial yard adjoins the factory at the front, with people about in the car park and CCTV cameras, so it’s better to enter from the rear. The brick factory itself also has at least one CCTV camera, though it most likely doesn’t work.
