Bunker D-ZQ with Large Doors and Artillery Shelters

Description

An artillery bunker positioned near the crest of a hill ridge, featuring two gun emplacements designed to allow anti-aircraft guns to be rolled inside and sealed behind protective hermetic doors. The site is remarkable for its unusual layout: the two gun emplacements are connected by a command bunker that was associated with a naval radar installation directly above it. The radar remains operational to this day, while the bunker itself has been abandoned.

The bunker has three exits on the eastern face of the hill, two on the western (seaward) side with the gun emplacements, and one ventilation shaft-well located in the toilet. A space was reserved for a diesel generator set. Surviving features include hermetic doors, wall inscriptions, some wiring, panelled walls, and a decayed tactical situation board with a map of the Adriatic Sea.

For reasons unknown, the bunker is heavily infested with fleas. To enter, approach along the western slope and squeeze through a gap beneath the hermetic door in the southern gun emplacement.
