Bunkers V-UR under the Castle

Two bunkers on a hill above the city of Vlorë. One of them appears to have belonged to the Navy — some kind of local command post or radio centre — while the other was more of a staff facility, intended for city services or commanding officers, as it contains several rooms roughly the size of working offices. As for their exact purpose, one can only speculate: the bunkers are in poor condition and are of interest mainly as yet another example of local bunker-building.

Both tunnel entrances are open and visible from the road leading up to the castle. Each bunker runs straight through the hill, the two sit at slightly different elevations and are not connected to one another. Each has its own entrance and exit. There is some litter at the entrances.
