Chicken Coop

A former poultry farm surrounded by forest. Built during the communist era and later modernised. It once consisted of a dozen long chicken houses alongside the processing plant itself, where carcasses were handled. Today the factory grounds have been repurposed into some sort of hotel, a restaurant, and an empty zoo, while the chicken house side of the site is completely abandoned.

Six long poultry sheds survive with roofs that are mostly intact; one is in a state of ruin, and a few others have fully collapsed and been demolished. Four of the sheds contain comparatively modern Italian-made equipment — long rows of four-tier cages with conveyor belts for manure removal and egg-collection strips. Feeding systems and drinkers are in place, along with a fog generator for humidity control and various auxiliary units. Outside stand feed silos and water tanks. The presence of all this equipment makes the place genuinely rewarding to explore and well worth a visit.

No security has been spotted, but goats graze on the grounds and someone comes to check on them occasionally. All the sheds have entry points, though they may be blocked with boards and bricks. There are also a couple of mushroom bunkers and a corridor-type shelter on the site. The farm is enclosed by a fence, broken in many places by fallen trees. To stop the goats from wandering off, the gaps have been plugged with blocks salvaged from the breaches — and along stretches of the fence grow some truly epic giant cacti.
