Coal Mining Complex Mine K-ST

An abandoned coal mining complex dating from the communist period, where prisoners once laboured. It sits in a valley encircled by mountains. Several primitive mine shafts once operated in the surrounding area; all have since collapsed. Old spoil heaps are visible everywhere, already overgrown with trees. A number of stone and brick structures survive, along with the remains of compressors, conveyor belts, and mine cart tipplers.

The road to the site runs through a gorge along a rough dirt track. The landscapes here contrast sharply with the views on the plain below. A strikingly picturesque location.
