Coastal Artillery Bunkers D-QU

A standard coastal artillery position. Four bunkers built from prefabricated concrete elements, mounded over with earth. They were designed to shelter heavy artillery pieces. The most distinctive feature of this site is the concrete spikes on the bunker rooftops — presumably installed to anchor camouflage netting or vegetation. Several metres higher up stands a rangefinder, entirely unconnected to the artillery bunkers. Adjacent to the rangefinder is a multi-room bunker.

The bunkers sit in a scenic spot, on a high cliff inside a nature reserve. A perfect place to watch the sunset.
