Coastal Artillery Position with Tunnels

A fortified position crowning a 150-metre hill whose slope drops directly into the sea. The complex consists of covered galleries connecting octagonal gun emplacements. Beside each emplacement sits a small room intended for signallers directing fire, ammunition storage, and sheltering personnel. At the centre of the battery, a corridor branches off and climbs the hillside via several flights of stairs, leading to underground headquarters rooms, a radio node, and a stores room for soldiers’ clothing. On the wall of one of the rooms, various types of naval vessels have been drawn and labelled. The site is unguarded, and local residents graze their livestock along the paths that wind between the gun emplacements.
