Command Bunker of the Korça District
Description
An abandoned bunker, formerly the command post for the city of Korçë — a shelter for the municipal administration and the leadership of various services, built inside a hill through a network of tunnels. Two entrances lead to two parallel adits connected by a perpendicular crosscut. The complex is in poor condition, yet a remarkable quantity of artefacts survives inside: numerous gas masks, the remains of tables, chairs, wardrobes, and parquet flooring.
On the grounds there is an unfinished third tunnel, presumably intended to house an additional block. Facing the entrances stands an abandoned two-storey building painted in military camouflage. Inside, a large collection of military documents has been preserved, the most recent of which date to the early 2010s.
Stray dogs may be living on the grounds; they bark loudly when they notice strangers. Directly in front of the archive building there is a café with a security presence and surveillance cameras.
