Command Bunker of the Vlora District

A former underground command post for the city of Vlora, serving as a shelter for the municipal administration and the civil defence headquarters. Located beneath a hill, its entrances open behind the former administrative building — now abandoned and emptied out — or another former government institution.

The facility has three entrances. Two of them face the building; the third opens onto the hillside on the opposite side of the hill. One of the entrances near the building has been bricked up for unknown reasons.

The layout of the command post consists of a tunnel running between two entrances and a second tunnel perpendicular to it, aligned with one of them. The tunnels are divided into a corridor and working rooms. The second tunnel ends roughly 100 metres from the entrance in a large hall. From there an adit branches off as an emergency exit, leading out to the hillside overgrown with shrubs. That section is heavily contaminated with clay and partially flooded.

Nearby stands a separate structure — the former diesel power station — with its original concrete blast door still intact at the entrance and the foundation for a diesel generator visible inside.

The site is unguarded, but it is best to avoid drawing the attention of local residents.
