Coal Processing Plant
Description
A former coal treatment plant associated with a now-defunct coal mine. The mine itself is flooded; its two former headframes, which once stood beside the plant, have been demolished — their shafts sealed with concrete plugs and fenced off.
The plant buildings have survived in a state bordering on dereliction and have transformed into a compelling post-apocalyptic landscape. The site features the concrete skeletons of the factory structures, an inclined conveyor gallery, two massive concrete washing tanks, and numerous scattered ruins.
The complex is neither guarded nor fenced, though a farmstead and a couple of private residences lie nearby; shepherds may occasionally be encountered in the area.
