House of Culture V-M

On the main square of the town stands a former Palace of Culture, which once housed a cinema, a library, and various cultural clubs and activity groups. Its ceremonial façade is decorated with a bas-relief divided into three scenes: girls dancing in folk costumes; workers marching from the local mine; and a horse pulling a cart of ore along rails, inexplicably being hugged by some man.

Every window in the building has been smashed, and almost nothing has survived — except for a pile of books scattered across the library floor. The building leaks, and the walls are covered in elaborate textures of decay. The passages into the cinema hall have been bricked up, and the way inside is not immediately obvious. The remaining rooms are wide open, entry is completely free, and even the locals can’t be particularly bothered by the fact that someone might find it interesting to step inside their former House of Culture.
