Iron-Nickel Mine E-KX

A large abandoned mine with several levels of underground workings connected by an inclined gallery. There are long straight stretches, sloping descents, junctions and vertical ore passes. They extracted iron, as well as ores containing nickel, chromium and cobalt.

On the middle level, rails survive, along with an overturned mine locomotive and the remains of machinery and equipment. There are also sections flooded by groundwater, as well as enormous mined-out voids at the level of the ore seam. Their scale is staggering: multiple entrances and exits into the tunnels, an internal relief of their own, waterfalls running down the walls and from the ceiling, and even underground lakes.

The whole mine is well ventilated and does not look prone to collapse. The oxygen level is perfectly normal. The exit from the lowest level opens onto a lit yard. This yard is loosely guarded, and someone lives in the former mine buildings.
