Iron-Nickel Mine K-DX

Description
A large abandoned mine where iron- and nickel-bearing ore was extracted.
The most accessible part is the main haulage adit, with a handsome portal closed off by a grille gate. The adit leads to the main shaft and to two ore passes from the upper levels. There are stretches with puddles on the floor, and in places water pours heavily from the ceiling. Some metal structures survive, but the rails have been completely dismantled.
There are several forks, crossings, parallel tunnels and closed loops, so it’s easy to get slightly lost. The workings are wide, spacious and well ventilated. The draught is especially noticeable in the adits leading to the single shaft, which works like a cooling tower. The shaft is flooded up to the level of the main adit; the depth and the number of levels below are unknown.
