Old Army HQ Bunker

A former underground reserve command post of the Albanian army leadership. The complex consists of two underground tunnels — one built in 1957, approximately 140 metres long, and another constructed in the 1960s, approximately 200 metres long — along with a separate bunker housing a diesel power station (fitted for two generators), a tunnel for old battery banks, and a storage tunnel.

These command posts are the direct predecessors of the more modern facility now known as the Bunk’Art 1 museum. The 1957 tunnel is one of the oldest Albanian bunkers ever built — quite possibly the very first. The entrances to all sections of the complex are located within a single gorge.

The condition is poor and the rooms are empty, but the blast doors and several elements of the ventilation systems have survived.
