Storage Tunnels F-LC

A former military storage base set in a picturesque forest. It stretches along a river, bends into a ravine, and continues beyond it. There was once a road running the full length of the complex, but it has overgrown and partly collapsed — only a footpath remains.

The base comprised about a dozen underground warehouses and several underground garages, the latter possibly unfinished storage chambers used as-is. One above-ground building once stood here, but only its ruins remain, barely distinguishable even on satellite imagery. The base was likely never completed: some garages have only their outer arches, with the tunnels behind them unexcavated; in others, the tunnel simply ends in bare earth. The finished warehouses come in two configurations: either single parallel long blocks with protective doors on the outside, or similar blocks connected in groups of four by interior tunnels. In places the ceilings and false inner walls — installed for waterproofing — have survived; elsewhere they have collapsed or been stripped down to the rebar.

No guards, the site is fully abandoned. The very first garage is used by locals to shelter sheep; outside it, a good-natured but dim dog sits on a chain. The locals don’t mind visitors coming to walk along the river.
