Superphosphate Factory

A large-scale former chemical plant, built under communism, which produced phosphate fertilisers and acids for the battery industry. It was abandoned more than 20 years ago and stripped bare for scrap metal. The municipality has no available funds for demolition or remediation of the contaminated soil.

Dozens of buildings are in a state of dangerous disrepair, along with tall chimneys and a post-apocalyptic landscape. Entry on foot and by vehicle is unrestricted, but toxic-coloured puddles, pits, sinkholes, stray dogs and the skeletal remains of other animals are encountered throughout the site.
