Tank Base with Underground Garages F

The grounds of a former military installation that housed a tank brigade of the Albanian army, tasked with defending the western part of the country. The unit was equipped with Type-59 tanks and several artillery pieces. Until 2007–2009, several dozen tanks were stationed here before being sent for scrap. For reasons unknown, five tanks were left behind and stood in place until February 2026, slowly swallowed by encroaching blackberry thickets.

The base sits at the foot of a hill and consists of a flat open area and four tunnel garages cut into the hillside. Each tunnel garage could accommodate four to five tanks. The open area served for outdoor vehicle storage, maintenance work, and troop formations. A headquarters building, barracks, and storage facilities are also located on the grounds. The tunnels were used strictly as garages.

The entire territory is now overgrown with blackberries and other vegetation, and nobody pays it any attention.
