Train Station in Shkoder

A recently closed station sure to delight fans of socialist modernism. The security guards let visitors in without any fuss and happily allow them to clamber over the two abandoned trains parked in front of the building.

The passenger carriages came from Italy and Germany; the locomotive is from Czechoslovakia. Rail service on the line was discontinued in 2020. Inside the station, ticket price boards, a payphone, and paintings have survived, though the waiting hall has been stripped of all its furniture.

The carriages have smashed windows, occasionally broken doors, and are almost entirely covered in graffiti.
