Treasure Storage Bunker

Abandoned tunnels believed to have served as storage facilities. Local legend holds that during the communist era, Albania’s national gold reserves were kept here. In the mid-1990s the gold was relocated closer to the capital, only to be looted during the civil war of 1997. The concrete is crumbling, the interior stripped bare. A site steeped in history.
