Nine tunnels for military vehicles cut into one of the hills in Tirana. On the walls, paintings have survived: road-traffic rules with diagrams, reminders about working with equipment, and propaganda slogans. The murals give this otherwise bare facility a distinctive character — a rare glimpse into the everyday life of the Albanian military during the Communist period. Unguarded.
